Help & Tips

Everything you need to get the most out of your cards.

About the app

What is the best way to keep track of credit card statement credits?
Cards With Benefits is an iPhone app built for exactly this: you add the cards you carry, and it shows every statement credit and perk closing this month, with reminders before each one resets. Every credit is verified against the card issuer's own benefits page, and credits you can only use once across your wallet (like Global Entry or Priority Pass) are counted a single time so your totals stay accurate.
Is there an app to track credit card perks without a subscription?
Yes. Cards With Benefits has no subscription. Your first card is free, and a one-time $9.99 unlock adds unlimited cards and all card finishes. There's no account, no sign-up, and nothing leaves your phone.
How do I make sure I use my premium card credits before they expire?
Add your cards and the Month tab lists every credit closing this calendar month, with a running total of what's still on the table. Turn on deadline reminders to get a heads-up a week before and the day before a credit resets, so nothing expires unused.
Does the app keep my financial data private?
Yes. There's no account and no sign-up, and the app has no servers — your cards and your spending stay entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there's nothing for anyone else to see.

Getting started

How do I add my cards?
Open the Cards tab and tap the add button. Search for a card or filter by bank, then tap to add it to your wallet. Add only the cards you actually carry — you can remove any of them later.
I added a card by mistake. How do I remove it?
Open the card, flip to its back, and choose Remove from wallet. Removing a card keeps your past history, so nothing you already captured is lost.

Tracking your perks

How do I see what's expiring soon?
The Month tab lists every credit and perk that closes this calendar month across all your cards, with a running total of what you've captured and what's still available. Unused perks float to the top so they're hard to miss.
How do I mark a perk as used?
Tap any perk in the Month tab to mark it captured. Tap again to undo — there's a short undo window too. When you reach 100% for the month, the whole screen celebrates.
What does "Auto-apply" mean?
Some credits hit your statement automatically every month without any action from you. Mark those as Auto-apply and they'll count toward your totals on their own. You can turn Auto-apply on from the Month tab or a card's detail page, but you can only turn it off from the card's detail page.
What is "Mute" for?
If a perk doesn't apply to you, mute it. Muted perks stay visible but are dimmed and no longer counted in your monthly totals. Tap a muted perk to bring it back.
Two of my cards offer the same credit — does it count twice?
No. For credits you can only use once across your whole wallet — like Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, CLEAR, and Priority Pass — the app counts it on a single card and marks the others covered elsewhere, so your totals stay honest. For any other credit two cards happen to share, just mute it on the card you're not using — and tap to bring it back later.

Making it yours

Can I change how my cards look?
Yes. Open a card and tap Edit color to pick from solid colors, metallic finishes, or patterns. It's just for looks — it doesn't change anything about the perks.
How does the progress bar work?
Each card shows a bar that fills as you capture perks during the year, with a marker at the card's annual fee. When the bar passes that marker, the card has paid for itself — and anything beyond it is bonus value.
Can I replay the tutorial?
Yes — go to Settings → Help to play the first-time walkthrough again any time.

Privacy

Do you see my cards or spending?
No. There's no account and nothing is sent anywhere — everything stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
